Not for Nothing

Last night I went to bed with a heavy heart, were all these years of our marriage for just nothing. Confused, saddened and in such a state of despair.
Then as I turned on the bathroom light and it dimly lit up the bedroom casting a beautiful glow over my sleeping child in what was once our bed.
My eyes saw her little face and my heart in that instant consumed all of me. My heart pulled and tugged and danced and filled my head up with such gratitude. No, all these years were not for just nothing Lisa, they were for these magnificent, beautiful children.
